Please email us to request an application.
Expressions Learning Arts Academy is an Alachua County Public Charter School, which falls under the state of Florida’s controlled open enrollment public education delivery system: “School of Choice.”
All applications are put into waiting lists for each grade. Kindergarten openings are filled by lottery starting in December of the prior year of entry. All other openings are filled by lottery as they become available.
Siblings of current students and children of staff are given priority and their applications are processed before any lottery.
Please note that many changes can occur with the status of our applicants and current students, so openings may happen at any time.
Notification of Selection
If your child is selected by the lottery, Expressions will email out an acceptance letter, which will require a response via email and phone. We do not mail out notifications to families who were NOT accepted. Please call the office if you wish to know the status of your child’s application.
Requirements
After your child is selected by lottery, all new parents must attend an orientation interview with our principal before the admission process is complete.
Although our school does not require auditions for admissions, our charter does require that our students, family, and staff commit to participation and support of the art components of our program. We realize that our mission and presentation of the arts may not be preferred by every parent, or suitable for all children. We strongly advise prospective students and their families to observe our methods and have a clear understanding of our philosophy.
All prospective families need to be aware that our charter requires that each parent volunteer at least 10 hours a year to Expressions. We have many flexible ways in which this can be accomplished.
