Thanks for helping our school as we continue to provide music, dance, drama and art as BASIC curriculum!!!! Every child receives a T-shirt, so please send us your child’s T-shirt size on the Directory form (Will be sent home in the Friday Folder – please send this back to us with your arts donation).

First Friday of every month is early 12:30pm dismissal day. There will be after school care available on those days.

1st Early dismissal will be Friday, Sept 7th.

*Please keep a look out for the club flyers in our Friday Folders with all our amazing

Afterschool Club opportunities for 1st through 5th graders.

*Afterschool Care begins at Expressions on Monday, August 13th! Prepaid only $12 per day or $50 per week. Checks and Credit Card payment only. If paying with credit card, please prepay the Friday before (or the day before), as our aftercare must be prepaid for your child to attend. No credit card payments will be taken Monday morning.

After care forms will be on a clip board outside front door before 8:15am and in the water fountain room after 8:15am. Forms must be filled out with payment before child attends aftercare.

THANK YOU for working with us so that we can continue to offer this great service to our families.

Emergency Card Data Sheets: Please complete and return new emergency card data sheet. Will be sent home first day of school for returning students. Please include cell phone numbers & email address. Please inform us of any medical alerts.  Note: If your address has changed since last year, please complete a new Basic Student Information Form and send a copy of TWO proof of address that shows the new address. Forms available in the office.

Supplies Lists (attached): It is important that each child bring all the supplies needed for school and their individual class. Supply lists will be emailed to you.

Consumable Books: Please be aware that teachers will be asking for $30- $40 for consumable workbooks and weekly science/social studies periodicals at open house in Sept. These items will be yours to keep.

Expressions Tote Bags: As usual, we do not have room for backpacks, so each child will receive an Expressions tote bag.

Back to School Nights: All students and parents will be invited to “Back-to-School” nights the week after Labor Day. Stay tuned for dates and time.

Volunteer Jobs: Congratulations! All parents are members of our PTO and we have lots of ways for you to fill your required 10 hour commitment. PTO will send out volunteer needs emails.

Before School Care: Before-school care begins at 7:45am and ends at 8:15am, when all children will go to their classrooms. For safety reasons, any child arriving before 8:15am must be escorted by a parent to the playground and check in with the teacher (studio room if it’s raining) – do not just drop them off - do not wait in front of school.

* Classes will begin at the times shown above. If you are late to school, you MUST sign your child in at the office!

We can no longer be relaxed about tardy arrivals. The teachers carefully plan their opening activities to relate to the day’s learning. Please be respectful and arrive on time. Missed work will have to be done at home that day.

Toys, etc.: Please remind your child that toys, trading cards, candy/gum, video games, music players, cell phones, expensive pens, money, make-up, cameras, Flip Flops, etc. are not allowed. Due to PE requirements, shoes that kids can run in must be worn daily.

Staggered Dismissal times: Please note that we have staggered dismissal times so that we can decrease traffic and increase safety at pick up time. We ask that you not play on the playground after school, as this defeats the purpose of each grade having a speedy, safe dismissal. There is a nice park with real swings at the end of this street, though. (Squirrel Ridge Park). Thanks for your cooperation.

****If you need to get out of your car for any reason, we ask that you park in the Dragon Parking Lot and walk over to help us keep the drop off/pick up area free of backing up cars.  As always, please be cautious and help with the safety of our students.

Now for the important stuff: Back to School Skating Party: Wednesday, August 29. 3-5 PM. at the Skate Station FunWorks , behind Newberry Road Shopping Center.

New Rooms: The Second grade room is now the front classroom in the main building. Third grade is now the classroom to the south of the office.

School Directory forms for returning students will be sent home the first week of school for edits and ads or shout outs.

We are so glad to have you and your family with us! We will always provide your child with an exciting learning environment of academic excellence enhanced by the arts. That is our reason for being, so our arts programs will never be cut. We are, of course, affected by the statewide education cuts which reduced the amount of funding we receive for each child. We will be counting on your continued support for fundraising, volunteering and donations more than ever!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Be Safe!

Have Fun!

See you on August 13th!
